When Kapsalie first arrived, we were thrilled to finally have our first rose gray cria born and bred here on our farm! He looked just like his sire, Katoomba and as usual, his dam Imlay passed on her amazing temperament. The result is large, dense, fiber packed boy with a confident and calm demeanor and perfect conformation. He is friendly and confident, would make a good 4H animal or fiber boy for the fiber artist that loves gray. His first fleece came in at AFD of 21.38 and SD of 5.17, so we are holding off on evaluating his potential as a herd sire until his second shearing.
Speaking of shearing, we discovered that our rose gray boy was actually silver gray with brown/rose gray spots with enough rose gray that causes him to appear lavender. Yes, just like his daddy. This color is absolutely beautiful and pictures simply do not do it justice.
We are currently offering Kapsalie as a Jr Herdsire at a fiber boy price, until his final evaluation is complete.
